The initial page you see when you start Plandroid is the data Import page. It is here that you can enter your customer details and specify the image to use for the floorplan.
You can enter your customer details into this section of the form. You can specify both a contact address for your customer and a separate job site address, if necessary. This information is normally used when you create a report in the Report page, for example to address a report to your customer. You can also save the information to the application's own searchable database, or connect to your existing customer database so that you can recall your customer's details without having to type them all in again from scratch. (Not all database formats are supported in this version, however.)
Note that you can use Ctrl + Enter to make a new line (carriage return) in the Address text box.
The controls in the customer details section allow you to clear all details, to find a record that matches the data already entered, to add a new record to the database, or to delete the current record from the database. When performing a find, the "%" character can be used to match any string, and the "_" character can be used to match any single character. For example, doing a find with a field entered as "Sm_th%" would match "Smith", "Smythe", and "Smithson".
Plandroid works by allowing you to create a system design directly on top of an image of a house plan. The Open Image button allows you to browse to an image file to set as the house plan background in the Design page. You can select an image in any common format, such as JPEG, PNG, GIF, or even PDF. The selected image will be shown in the thumbnail picture box. You can also simply drag and drop an image file into the picture box to set it as the plan image.

You can also add additional building levels with the Add Level button. Each level appears as a separate tab and is not linked or aligned to the other levels.
If you open a PDF document which has multiple pages, then additional controls will appear, as shown above, which allow you to browse to the page that you wish to use.
To clear the floor plan image, press the red cross by the top right of the plan thumbnail. To rotate the plan image, press the Rotate plan left or the Rotate plan right buttons on the bottom sides of the plan thumbnail.
A PDF may contain image data in a raster format (where the image is stored in bits for each picture element (pixel), such as a bitmap), or in vector format (where the image is stored as lines), or a mixture of both. A raster image will become blurred if you zoom into it, while a vector image will remain crisp. Plandroid supports direct rendering (drawing) of vector PDFs to the screen and printer, preserving the highest quality image possible.
The next page is the Design page.
